Well that was fun...

I know it doesn't mean much until Sept 8th but I went in tonight and agreed on price, terms, and spec's for my new ZL1. Dealer had two allocation and I was first in line. Gave a small deposit, went through the Order Workbench with him to spec out exactly what I wanted and now I wait for the longest three months since my last child was born. Anyway...here is what I got.

How can you agree on a price when the prices for all of the options aren't even out yet?

I agreed to pay MSRP for the car and the options I wanted. He agreed to waive any ADM or bump fees that usually get tagged onto limited allocation vehicles. He gave me a pretty good idea of what the options would cost (I have them on a separate sheet I did not post per his request). We used the options from the SS (Mylink w/ NAV) and the Vette for the PDR. The fuel cap was $250 as it is an LPO item and they already have those in stock, and for the exposed CF heat extractor we used the same price as the Gen5 ZL1 upgrade cost. Believe it or not, everything else select is standard on the ZL1 so in my build there was only about 5 things I added over standard configuration. There is only 1 tire/rim package, I did not want decals, I wanted the CF dash but decided to not get it due to constrained availability (no idea what that would have cost since there is nothing close to compare it to). The biggest unknown on the pricing side is the cost of the A10 and I was not in the market for that so I have a REAL good idea of what I am going to pay.

Just curious...when you say first in line, do you mean you went in tonight and you were the only one to approach that dealership with interest? Or do you mean you put your name on the list months ago?

I am guessing he was on the list. Dealer found out his allocations and contacted the first in line. Dealer gets something in writing that the allocation is sold. Good for both parties

I'm sorry, but it's too soon to be doing this... Have some patience and wait until pricing is set and the order banks are open.

We estimated the same as the Gen5 tbough he expects it to be less.

To each his own but when you are first up on the list and the dealer calls and says they are ready to start staging orders you do what you got to do. The entire deal is subject to cancelation all the way up until the time a production order # is assigned. Final pricing will be announced weeks ahead of that but I am very confident on my pricing strategy and a few grand either way is not going to bother me so why not get it done.

The op may just want peace of mind, and I can't blame him. I'm guessing he's priced out within a reasonable range of what his walk-out price will be. Nothing wrong with that.

Like he said, his patience will be tested waiting for it to actually arrive.

Ha ha. I was roaming around in your head man, and our posts hit at the same time. Maybe you're my twin brother from another mother.

oh, and if you plan on getting the exposed cf heat extractor, the system will not allow you to select the DUV or DVV decal packages. I guess it makes sense but just thought I'd say something about it.
