Windshield Extreme Fogging - Repair Available
Since nobody reads previous posts on the longer thread... Bulletin #17-NA-201 has been officially released to repair this issue.
This was previously only communicated to technicians and service advisors through a video on demand broadcast but now is available for review in print form. |

I'm in So. Cal, got my first experience of the windshield fogging last Friday morning. I tried to look up the TSB number listed by the OP to see what the recommended fix might be, however nothing came up. May still be to new? IDK... I am interested, please post if anyone has further information.

So the windshield needs to be pulled for this fix?

Interested to hear what all this involves and if it's worth it. Mine has started to fog up again this year due to the muggy mornings.

Windshield needs to be removed and a boroscope is installed into the duct to aid the technician in removal of the foam blocks holding the door open. Blocks were originally there to reduce some blower noise.
Calibration update is done as well to repair blower noise through software. Looks like tricky procedure to perform but the alternative is to remove the dash which would be worse since doors need to be removed etc. |

Recommend Covering the vent till you crack a windshield. Then consider the repair. ???

Having mine done in a couple of weeks unfortunately... to replace headliner but they are gonna work on the defrost repair as well while the windshield is out.
On a side note 7WSM - my favorite cartridge! And I lived in Pearland til 4yrs ago, in Katy now. |
