Here's my opinion on the RS vs. non-RS cars...just find the money and buy the RS package - it's a steal on the V6 models and makes the car look "right" rather than looking like you cheaped out and bought a regular V6 just to save money. Another option you might want to consider is going with a slightly used 2010 model. You can probably find a used 2LT/RS for about the cost of a new 1LT/RS.

Regardless if 1LT or 2LT with the RS package you'll be changing tires (and rims) for the Winter - a set of 18" all-seasons/performance snows and rims will run you ~$1,000 from Tirerack.
As for the red halos I'm sure NY State law will prohibit them for street use - so look for a set that can be white and change color for meets. Step back, assess what you really want and what can be afforded - good luck.

other than that I say do the 1LT with RS if you can't do the 2LT/RS. you will miss the spoler and the HID/halos without the RS package.

Maybe less, but I included the rs package costing 1800 and 4 tires, which people say cost a couple hundred each. Also where I live, the ground is usually plowed very well, so I just need tires that can survive in fairly cold areas. |

There is a DIY thread on setting up your halos with a remote switch so you can switch between the red and the actual driving halos remotely. I think they also made it so you can program the switch into your garrage door buttons, it's pretty cool. If youre too scared to do that yourself ACC has some instalelrs for the oracle lighting setup.

2LT
I have a 2Lt Fully loaded minus the RS package! I didn't care about the headlights and since I live in Wisconsin I preferred the 19 inch tires. I went on ebay and I bought a oem spoiler for $110 factory painted and everything. I'm happy with my 2LT minus the RS package! I had 3 weeks to get my camaro before my coupon expired so I was happy when my sales manager located a 2LT camaro for me within my timeframe~

I have almost the same 1LT you described but without the BA sound system. Definitely the wheels and headlights make this car really stand out. If you don't care about the leather you could go for the 1LT and add the gauges for about $300-400. Personally I like having that empty space under the radio since it's a nice place to keep my cell phone. IMO go for the 1LT/RS

That said, I voted 1LT RS (see sig.). Also consider the manual and save some serious green, that is, unless you cannot drive a stick. |

Why not skip the auto and get a 2LT/RS? The extra cost would only be a few hundred. Plus you can pretend you're all manly driving a standard around campus.
