Left my front license plate bracket off for 2.5 months now and at least 30 cops had an opportunity to pull me over and say something about it. Under no circumstance am I going to put it on. Show and Go looks horrible and with the front ground effects lip, it would get shredded.

How many dealers put the bracket on before you picked it up?

As I posted elsewhere at least on my 2LT the Show N Go maunal doesn't work out of the box - the front fasica of the 2LT is too steep as the Show N Go frame is meant to be horizontal. It can be put on but requires drilling into the lower fasica and the frame will be at an angle - if installed this way the license plate will also be at angle angle when in the "Go" position.
See these threads - first one has another member's install http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=24244 Second has a post with my sketch of the issue http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ighlight=altec I think the SS fascia is flat or flatter and I know the GFX is flat which would allow either the manual or motorized Show N Go to work. Just be careful regarding the LTs. So for now I'm running without and haven't been stopped yet though I know its a matter of chance IF I'm not doing anything else wrong. I pulled into Sam's Club yesterday, two local patrol cars were having a driver-side to driver side meet - both looked at me and gave a "thumbs" up that I returned the gesture but didn't bother to come over were I parked.

We've got a good solution....
2010 Camaro retractable front license plate holder. With this retractable plate holder you can hide your ugly front plate within seconds, simply fold it down and stow away. If your on the road just pull it out and flip it up, no more tickets and no more hassle from the authorities. Installation requires just two small holes to be drilled under the front bumper or double sided tape. Adjust up or down in less than 3 seconds! |

The plate when up is leaning on the bumper, so unless it has clearance its going to scrap against the bumper surface. Still not a solution for those of us with LS/LTs who don't want to drill and double sided tape is not a good fixture for what the frame will encounter from wind and road conditions.

Right, the 2nd picture is not a Camaro as stated on the site. This is a solution as double faced tape is fine. We've sold these for 4 years for Corvette and they hold up great and we have never had one issue with them. Perhaps you don't want to use this, that is fine. But its a great product that does have many satisfied customers. |

For a GFX or SS with a horizontal bumper bottom its a good solution. BTW - I like your Camaro products - just a suggestion - the pictures need to be bigger, especially when you click on them - you can't really see the details... good luck and thanks for making aftermarket accessories.

We have the same issue here in NY. I didn't put one on my 2002 and got 1 ticket in 2 years plus. It was worth it. The one on the 2010 is not as bad but I still don't want to drill the bumper. Plus it obviously looks better with out it. If I want to sell it later to someone who lives where they don't require 2 plates, it will lower the value. Keep in mind however, If you have the front bracket on, it acts as a buffer for all those morons who like to use your bumper as a guide for parking.

I've been giving this alot of thought and I'm not putting it on.. just looking at the car.. I can't do it. Thinking about the hide away option but I'm not sure about the ground clearance. Maybe try to hook it up in the lower grill, I still have 25 more days with my temp plate so I still have time
