The time has come to release some details of our new ZL1 system, enjoy:

System Details:

First off let me just say that this system has been completely re-designed from any other Camaro CAI we offer. Every component from the TB to the filter was engineered specifically for this vehicle, tested, and proven. The most important design feature of this system, and the piece that is where much of our time has been spent, is the billet MAF housing which is deigned not only as the transition piece from the coupler into the air filter, but also serves as a velocity stack to ensure that the airflow properties are exactly where they need to be to make power, reduce restriction, and stay within the vehicles fuel trim parameters so that a CEL is not thrown. This piece is nearly the size of a softball, and is cut from one solid piece of aluminum, and it allows the MAF sensor to be plugged right into it. The filter is the largest filter we could fit given the space inside the airbox and the angle at which the filter sits in the airbox cavity. Due to the insulated and sealed airbox, the thermal coated billet MAF housing/velocity stack, and the use of a silicone coupler coming off of the TB, heat soak is greatly reduced.

Performance:

Average HP gain over stock + 19 RWHP
Average TQ gain over stock + 20 FT-LB TQ

Max HP gain over stock + 19 RWHP
Max TQ gain over stock + 21 FT-LB TQ

** These gains were on an otherwise stock ZL1, with the only change made being the CAI. There was no tuning done on this vehicle, and no CEL’s were thrown. Fuel trims looked very good and full pound of boost was gained. We actually seen some higher gains HP on a few pulls, some as high as 24 rwhp, but the 19 rwhp we are claiming should easily be seen should you choose to Dyno the car yourself after installing the CAI **

**We are looking into a carbon fiber option as well. The details for a Carbon Fiber finish are completely up in the air right now, I know it would add cost (speculating around $30-$50) and we don’t even know for sure if it’s going to be an option.

**LEAD TIME UPDATE**
As of 9-20-13 we are anticipating a ship date of 10-4-13, possibly even a few days sooner (6 days beyond our original estimation). Production has already started but there are still some materials we are waiting on as well as installation instructions that need to be completed, and we are currently waiting for a ZL1 to be dropped off to do them. We have many of these on order, and it is our goal to ship them as soon as we possibly can!! Thanks everyone, our ZL1 CAI will be in your hands soon!!

Shipping will be 8 weeks from time of order or from 8-1-13.

**We are really pushing ourselves as well as suppliers to have this system available and ready to ship out in 6 weeks, but wanted to leave ourselves a little window for delays, hence the 8 weeks.**

This is made in house and is where much of the time testing and tweaking was spent to ensure to best readings were available to the MAF to ensure the most gains while staying within the parameters of the vehicles computer so that a CEL is not thrown and no tuning is required. THE PHOTO SHOWS THE NEAR CHROME VERSION, THIS PIECE WAS A TESTING PIECE SO THE WELDS ARE NOT EXACTLY "PRODUCTION" SPEC**
