Did I miss something here.....

I was looking to see if my dealer is playing games with me, I am #1 at our dealership and still have not had our order picked up, and I noticed that the Moreno auto Mall has something like 44 cars coming already ?????? WTF !!!!

At first glance it looks like the only dealer in CA. to get any cars.... what did I miss ?

I stopped reading the article at "finally in showrooms this week."

Ummmm... where?

Ok, I did read a little further until the L99 motor had "420 hp at 4,600 rpm, 410 lbs.-ft. at 4,300 rpm with automatic".

You'd think this guy would have bothered to verify his info before he wrote it...

So is there any validity to this or they just blowing smoke? i want to take delivery of my car w/ almost zero miles on it rather than 20,30,or 50...
I personally feel they're blowing smoke. I was told my car was being built sometime last week. I called today hoping and kind of expecting to get a VIN, but I am told the same thing. The car is built, but they could hold it for a week or for a month for "extensive testing" because GM wants to make sure everything is perfect. The dealer could not even give me the 4 digit status code and don't seem to know what I am talking about. Why do some dealerships seem to be so cooperative and others do not or do not have a clue? I then called the GM customer service number and got some BREAKING NEWS! Here goes, is everyone ready! Drum roll please! After holding for about 5 minutes I was told they have already started building the new Camaro! I know this will be front page news on the Camaro5 website!

Signed, Very Frustrated! :(

I pulled the Excel sheet last night and maybe I'm missing something, but it seems like most if not all are somewhat standard colors Black, Yellow, Red and Silver. Maybe I need to check again, but I did not notice any IOM's, ABM, IBM etc....

Dang, I just can't wait!

My dealer warned me over a month ago that they would probably be holding the early production cars at least two weeks for extensive inspections because that was what they did with the Impalas when they first came out. Unknown how long that will continue though. Probably depends on how many problems they find and learn to correct as assembly. So I'd say that is good information.

We were told prior to production even starting that there would be a 7-10 day ship delay for quality audits. There is no surprise here. Today is day 11. If it takes another week, I'm good with that but I suspect it will be sooner.

From fbodfather: (this morning, regarding cars being held until the May 6th reveal)

NOT TRUE!

(........and I wouldn't stand in front of the gates next week if I were you......)

(rumor has it that with all that muscle in one place a 'certain other' coupe specimen **insert whinny here** has not been seen within 50 miles of Oshawa in the last week.....)

That's good enough for me.
