Exclamation Dealers Help! My Dealer says they have no info on price protection

Hi Everyone,

So my Camaro has shipped as of 6-11! I go down to my dealer today to get the paperwork ready(I already have financing) and they tell me they are going to charge MSRP as agreed upon. So I get the numbers from the sales manager and its MSRP, but not pre-order MSRP(I ordered 3-2) so I let the sales manager know. He says that he does not know of any way to discount this, I see him make a few calls to other dealers to see about this.

I told the sales manager that I check this site(which they are aware of) and that I have seen written by dealers that the price MSRP for preorders does not come invoiced that way, and that the dealer must apply for a credit with GM. He made some more calls, and nobody has heard of a procedure regarding this. My dealer is open to apply this, but he wants to know how he would go about doing it as he says there is no information available.

Can any dealers help me or my dealer out on this Please?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW I ordered from Sands Chevy in Surprise Arizona.

Dealer doesn't apply. It comes from GM if applicable. I delivered one early May and have not gotten any PP money.

hmmm I thought preorders before 3/15 were suppose to be price protected. How would I become applicable?

Tell him to either:

1. Call the dealer business center

or

2. Call his District Sales Manager or his Zone Manager -- they can walk him thru it......

(.....whomever this is must be new at the dealership.....)

Waldo's invoice came in correct; I don't have a clue what his window sticker said as I don't have it (yet). All I have is the "generic" no pricing available sticker he came with.

Or he knows fully about it and is taking advantage of someone who signed for MSRP on paper 8 months ago. Sorry, but GM handled this one wrong. How hard would it have been to to code the early order activation into the sticker printing proccess to print out the early pricing? I'm still somewhat worried about dealing with this with my dealer. I'm sure it will all turn out ok, but life would just be easier if the sticker showed the early pricing.

agreed. my invoice came in with the higher destination charge and my dealer told me there's nothing he can do about it. its a gm thing. i feel bad about asking my dealer to do any extra work after how well he has treated me for $45. Just another way gm is going to make extra money off of me.

Order Type

Look at your workbench paperwork, page 1 bottom right section.
Look at the order type - It should say SRE Retail Sold.

If the dealer did not order the car as a sold order, I'd bet that it did not qualify as GM would not know that it was a sold order.

Just a thought.

Also, my invoice does not say anything about mine being pre-ordered.
However, the window sticker does. In the pricing section just above the cost listings it says - Early Order Activity.

Hope this helps.

Unfornutly, this isn't really the point of the problem. It's too easy for them to say they know nothing about it. Imagine all of the people who preordered it and don't visit these forums. We do, so we know to push the matter. I happen to have the IOM color which for me means an extra $400 (give or take) on my sticker. And the extra destincation charge. Overall, it's an extra $500 for me. I know it doesn't sound like a lot in the long run, but I"m already stretching my money on this car. I will pay it if I have to, but would prefer not to. Not too mention I did sign for MSRP, so in his eyes, who am I to argue the sticker price when I got to buy it?

I'm in the same boat as you, stretching to the limit to order the one I ordered so I'm hoping when mine gets here this week I don't have the same problem. I already see in the invoice I've seen that the desination charge is $795, not $750 so who knows about the extra charge for the IOM and the stripe package. I have the email that talks about the pre-order pricing so hopefully that will come in handy if I need it.
