Negatives to lowering Camaro?

I've been contemplating lowering my 2014 1LE anywhere between 3/4"- 1" in order to get it closer to the Z/28 stance. However, aside from of course driving over speedbumps and driveways, I've heard other negatives like the ruining the length of life for my shocks. I was looking into purchasing the BRM 1" lowering springs:

I wanted to hear feedback on whether I should or not. My girlfriend already hates the ride on my 1LE sayings it's too "rough", but I figured this shouldn't be that different.

That's a true statement about reducing the overall life of the factory shocks/struts. However, it's hard, if not impossible, to calculate just how long they will last. Some people have lowering springs and their factory components last for years, others aren't so lucky, and only get a few months out of them. I suppose it depends on how many miles you have on them already. With a 2014 1LE, I think you'd probably be safe for quite a while without having to worry about it. Also, you can expect a little stiffer ride with lowering springs. Probably not enough to worry about, but they do have a higher spring rate over the factory springs. I hear very, very few complaints from our customers who have made the switch!!!

I have my BMR 1" springs ready to go. My only concern is dragging my headers, but I'll get over that as soon as I see it

I had BMR 1" drop springs on my car with AR Headers and never had a problem.

Rides stiffer and scrap my lower front splitter allot on driveways. That's about it for me. I went with BMR 1.4"/1" split kit.

You change the roll center which usually makes the overall effect a poorer handling car.

I have bmr 1.4 all corners and it sits pretty well. But the ride is stiff. I had it for almost 2 years and shocks are still good. I will swap it though with a coil over because I need the car to be lower.

Suspension geometry can be compromised and the negative camber gain from suspension can turn into negative camber loss.

In other words you can end up with a mean looking stance but your geometry works backward from design. The other negative is lower roll center.

At the number your looking at your probably OK for the geometry.

I did BMR 1.2 inch drop on my car and it handles much better. A lot less body roll and no fighting with understeer.

Eibach 1 inch drop, certainly feels like it handles much better, ride quality relatively uncompromised as well. I have never heard drop springs making your handling worse...
