Is this also a problem with the OEM short throw Hurst shifter in the 2012 SS?

No, this is for the aftermarket Hurst only. OEM no issues.

So I got mine installed but I had an interesting issue that I didn't see mentioned in this forum. When I went to press my bushings into the shifter they actually fell in almost perfectly. I though wow, this will be easy, but it actually made it impossible to burnish the pin! With about two beers and enough working with the hole setup to get the bushings to stop spinning in the housing I decided to tap the pin in the bushing with a small rubber hammer. This actually was not that bad! I was able to push it through one side better than the other so when I installed the shifter back into the car I just tapped it into the easy side and secured it. I just hope I don't need to remove it anytime soon!

Overall, it is all worth the pain to put these in! I love the shifter again like I got it brand new! Thanks for the kit, it is well worth the price!
