Brand New 2012 Silverado 1500 LTZ full load for $40,000 Canadian. What say you
So my work has a discount program at GM now, and there is about an $8500 rebate + $1000 free chrome package on Silverado.
Long story short, $55,000 brand new for full load (Heated/cooled seats, Z71 package, the smaller 5.3?? V8, 4WD etc etc) for $41,000 and 0% financing over 48 months. Am I insane NOT to do it?? |

Do you need a truck? Do you want a truck?
Silverado certainly isn't my choice for a truck daily driver. The price seems good after the canadian, and you can never go wrong with 0%. If you want it, go pick it up! |

is it the AFM 5.3 or the regular 5.3? either way... that particular truck is loaded with more ammenities than some caddies...lol I've got a 2500HD with a radio and power windows... for me personally, thats all I need. its a truck. the Z71 is just an appearance package, tell them to keep the chrome and knock another $1000.00 off the price

AFM 5.3, have you heard anything bad about them? Did a bit of research and they seem pretty trouble free.
It wouldn't really be a $41,000 payment, cause I would put $4000 down and get about $10,000 for my trade, but yeah some thinking to do.... |

I have a 2010 Silverado with a 5.3 with AFM. Alot of these will have the lifter tick at startup nothing to worry about there. I have also seen on several including mine small oil leaks.
The dealer told me the oil pan bolts were not torqued to spec. I will see if that fixed it at the next oil change. It is a good motor I have had one in a 2003 (no AFM) and a 2008. I put 60000 miles on the 03 before I traded it on the 08 and 48000 on the 08. Motor runs strong and I have had no other issues other tha the small oil leak. I avg 15 MPG on a mix of city and highway driving. I think you will be happy with it.
