I believe I ordered mine on 20120717; which likely put me in the last 5 of the first 20. Delivered yesterday, installed today. Instant gratification.

Factory TB Removed

You can read my review comments here - http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...29#post5412529

I'd definitely say it's worth it.

It is worth the wait/expense. I put mine in today and drove about 50 miles with it in so far. It doesn't transform the car into an LS3, but it does make the throttle more responsive. You'll feel more confident leaving the car in a higher gear (mine's an M6) and can expect better pick-up when you give it some gas.

My CAI brand intake/scoop/washer bottle relocation kit comes in Friday, so I'll be able to report how that makes a difference as well. My car was totally stock before today.

I have to deal with a lot of local traffic (with a standard transmission), which means I need 2nd gear to feel a bit more like 1st when I'm going ~20-35. With my aftermarket combo I have more power, but still a bit sluggish on the 2nd gear from 20-35 (1700-2700 rpm) during city traffic slow-then-go. After installing the VMAX (in about 20 minutes after clockout) driving through about 20 minutes of rush-hour today I believe got what I was looking for out of the PTB.

P.S. I corrected the hose arrangement on my RX Catch Can shortly after taking the photos, so no need to point out my brief moment of idiocy.

That's great to hear Johnny. Can't wait 'til mine arrives (just ordered it today).

Please be sure to tell us about this install and results. This may be my next mod. I have the CAI - just need the scoop & bottle kit.

The scoop is the only thing that may take a bit to install. There's some cutting (of plastic) that may slow it down, as you have to be able to access the area. Other than that, it's a quick change-out.

Just installed my catch can a minute ago, too. Ridiculously easy.

Did all the pre-orders ship out from Tracey? If so, I'm wondering why I haven't heard anything from Southwest Speed on the status of my pre-order. I'm all down for patience but I am not down for a lack of communication. I'm out of town and it would be nice to know if I need to send someone to pick up the package...some type of communication would help.

There were a bunch of orders that went out. Not all of the orders that were taken were a part of the "first 20." Most of those orders were from folks that had preordered 7 and 9 weeks ago.

Agreed that it woulda been nice to get more communication from Rx but I can assure you that there were slammed with work and doing their best to get orders out in the sequence they were taken.

With the addition of more hands down there, I'm already seeing a vast improvement in communication and we're passing that right to the customer.

I can tell ya that it will certainly get better and for those who have ordered through us, I'm always an email/PM/Text/call away.

Thanks again for all the support guys and I hope that this helps those in question.

Ivan

I know it isn't the reason for doing this mod, but will any improvement in MPGs perhaps be a side benefit of the new TB? Seems the engine will be more efficient. Just wondering.

When driven the same (most dont with the improed performance) we see 1-3 mpg improvement.

Shipped the rest of the first 20 today so all that were in the first 20 (I think one got damaged so maybe 19) yours should be on the way, and cores are coming back in fast! (thank all who are sending them back asap) so expect more soon.
