Then wouldn't it suggest that they may need a tune adjustment possibly?.....

Haven't you made 490 with the ss2 before with the ss2 or did that car have heads?

I think most guys that hit the 480HP area also have ported heads and throttle body but I could be wrong.

I do have a question for you other guys though with a cam, when putting it in neutral and coming to a stop does your engine stay "revved" till a complete stop?
If I put the car in neutral and coast to a stop it'll rev to 1800-2000 until I stop. I was told that I'd just have to live with it and it comes with having a cammed car.

This.

I don't have an aftermarket cam, but when I shift to neutral and just coast to a stop, it will rev from idle to about 1200 a few times before coming to a complete stop.

I don't know why, but I don't question it since it drives just fine.

Which is better though? NF or Hell raiser?

If you just coast with the clutch in then it wont rev like that. It can be tuned out to a point but not completely. The night fury gets my vote, thats what I put in my car and I couldnt be happier.

Here is a idle clip of my night fury.

Sounds Fnnn great! What are the cam specs & what rpm are you idling at?

This is the specs listed on their website 230/242 6xx/6xx 113+x. You have to contact them directly to get more specific specs. My idle is set around 800 rpm, it bounces around just a little.

Night Fury Cam
Melling High volume pump
C5R timing chain
Air Raid CAI
TSP 1 7/8 headers without cats
GM performance exhaust

The car drives pretty much like it did stock, and as far as gas mileage is concerned, on the 10hr drive there I averaged 23MPG on the way home I averaged 21MPG's so I was pretty happy!
what valve springs you running?
