First time drag racing the my camaro
Well as the title states, I dragged my girl Renee for the first time at Race Sonoma (Infineon/Sears point to the older crowd). I decided to stick with with launch control just to see how it felt and worked, ill say, it was interesting yet extremely functional. I only entered the trophy class which is the basic, anyone can run, class. Had to race against some pro mod guys and got lucky thanks to them red lighting during the eliminations. All said and done I lost and got 2nd place against a 2006 Pontiac GTO with drag slicks. My car held up well the the torture i put it though. My times down the strip would be considered slow to most I believe. They were all at 13.2xx up to a 13.4xx, please factor in that I was using the launch control and my vehicle is a manual. ill post pictures of the time slips and links to the videos on Facebook. If your in the Napa/Solano/Sonoma area, hit me up!! :P

Your times aren't to bad for launch control. Give it a go without it next time! It's always good to hear someone having fun at the track. The real fun is adding some mods and going back to see the results.

Thanks Juiced1, I plan on doing some modifications to the performance of the vehicle in a few more months hopefully!
I was able to find one more link, it was the final drag race that I lost. I ran a 13.41 when my dial in was at 13.45, funny thing is I left off on the throttle TWICE!! Bracket racing is hard :P https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...1594380&type=3 |

Weather permitting, I'll be racing my car for the first time this Saturday. I'll post my times afterwards.

I made three passes last night. The first run was done with traction control on and I ran a 13.6 @ 109 mph. Second run, no traction control and I spun pretty bad in 1st & 2nd with 14.0 @ 100 mph. Third run, traction control off, launched at 4k rpm's and ran a 13.2 @ 110mph.
I had a great time and will definitely do this more often! My goal is get into the 12's with a better launch and 60 foot times.
