Snow Removal

What is the best way to remove snow from car without fear of scratching paint? Even letting it melt and slide off sounds bad.

I took the garden hose and melted it off with water, works great if the temp is above 32. I had quite a layer on top after the big storm last weekend north
of Denver.

Buy a snow brush with the squeegee on the other side. Use the squeegee side, not the brush side, on the paint. I've been using these for years on cars with no harm to paint. Similar concept as the squeegees used to dry off your car.

You need to refer to Camaro Law #13.

This topic has me thinking about 2 things that made me laugh last winter. At the place i was renting while waiting for my house to be built i seen a guy use a hammer to remove ice from his car . Car was full of dents from that. Seen another one use a steel shovel to remove snow from his hood and trunk leaving nasty scratch's all over the place

Most important; a good coat of a high quality wax/polish.

I NEVER use a snowbrush or any type of snow removal device. I will start the car, allowing it to warm up for approximately 10 to 15 minutes, which is adequate time for most of the snow/ice to begin melting. I'll usually try and remove the "top layer" by hand, allowing any remaining snow/ice to melt during driving. This is the method I've used, driving my Jeep (the SS doesnt see winter anymore) and the finish has never suffered.

I use the snowrake. It's soft and will not scratch the paint. It's what all the dealers in my area use. I'm also like moose though, all my cars are in the garage except for my work truck and my jeep. So their're the only ones that get the snowrake.
