That's interesting. Does she actually handle the calls or knows people who do handle the calls?

The reason I ask is I am curious. When someone calls into them for assistance (say they want their doors unlocked) does the OnStar Operator have a special device to control your car or do they essentially sit in front of a computer screen with something like a Web-Page on it that they can click things and control the car.

The answer to this could solve a long standing dispute. Thanks!

The second day after i got my car people would call me and ask for random people like "Hi, can i please speak to kathy or john or mike?" Im like WTF! how are you talking to me through my car speakers? I was just listening to the radio a second ago...i was shocked too...i felt stupid afterwards but i was shocked that my car had its own phone number.

They have to be listening in on every conversation. I went out for Mexican with a buddy from work for lunch in his escalade. On our way back to the office he had some pretty fierce gas and some one came over the radio and called door knob and then gave directions to the nearest gas station with a rest room. Since then I've been hiding from big brother who is out to get us.
