You definitely have to launch the car at a higher rpm, also why didn't he show more than 1 run, it always takes a couple of run to make adjustments to get the fastest times. He is making a good sales pitch period.

Amen brother

j/k, having some fun. Mentally I was doing that exact same thing without realizing it. A grain of salt with all reviews would be in order, both the good reviews, not so good reviews and the reviews on the other pony's as well.

Peace

its a ok time. the wind played a factor in the time aswell, as the car sounded like it was running against the head wind. the driver could have pushed the car more through 2nd and 3rd gear, and he could have launched a little harder.

So a bogged launch, short shifting and non broken in car will yield 13.6 @108.

Unfortunately these times will probably be representative of many 5th Gen owners who just decide to take the brand new car to the local T'N'T and think they will run what the magazines do.

Chalk one more up to Hennessey

The only Hennessy I'll ever buy comes in a liter bottle

I'm confident these cars will run high 12's with a half way decent driver. When I bought my 2000 Z28 I remember the magazines were only running 13.80's-13.90's. I took it to the track and went 13.52 the first time out.

That launch was the worst I've seen for a test. A 2.3X?! I could get a better launch in 3rd off the line - gimme a break. I agree with the thoughts about sand bagging; so when one of their first customers spend $55K for one of their mod'd SSs, and run high-12s, they'll be happy thinking they just got a whole lot more power and performance, when that car could easily run a low-to-bottom 13 (I think even a top-12...)

That was rubbish.

Do some research you lose alot more . That 60 ft killed the run as did the 2-3 short shift .

Why the hell would you get the STREET tires that hot with that big burnout?? Thats mistake number 1.

Super super slow shifting and at what RPM? Sounded pretty low IMHO.

The guy just wasnt driving it hard at all. The car should easily get 2.0 60ft and he pulled a 2.3?? Talk about just barely rolling into the gas. If he was pushing it, there would of been a little bit of noise from the rear except he bogs it. Needs to be launched higher than 2k for sure.

I agree with you on that. There was a post where everyone thought the SS would keep up with a GT500 becaue one magazine had poot times for the GT.

We need to get the few fellow members who've picked up their cars out to the track. I'd rather see those times then more bs from the hen.
