Beyond 2020 Vision - GM Design Center (w/ Bumblebee Camaro Cameo)
Frank Saucedo is Director of Advanced Design for GM in southern California. His team is working on the cars of the future. He said, "We're trying to look out past 2020." Check out the video to see why Saucedo believes California gives a better perspective on what future automobile buyers will want.
Oh, and the newest iteration of Bumblebee Camaro makes several cameos. |

Some of those comments at the end were ridiculous. "I want a car you can drive out on the road". O K!

Oh how I wish the 2014 rear would have been designed like this. Much better license plate and diffuser area.

The comments illustrate that most buyers don't know what they want...

I wonder what software they're using that generates the perspective views...
I also hope they aren't seriously making design decisions based on the people they were interviewing in the last seconds of the clip. I mean like.... you know like.... like..... I want a car that's like.... you know? Wow.

How about" I want a car with a SOUL. One that you can't walk past without wishing you were out on a canyon road going through the gears."

Not buying the "California thing" and it puts a pretty nasty taste in my mouth. There are people designing awesome cars all around the world. General Motors just has to find them and pay them to keep them. Where they work doesn't matter.

I found it ironic that he clams that Californians are innovative yet each person interview listed no features or common ones.

At first I thought 2020 that is ridiculous... then I remember it is less than 7 years out.
