rumor is their truck motors might go OHC but their car engines will stay pushrod. Will employ DI, no shock their, and VVT. Lots of rumors that you will see 4v heads still using pushrods. Speculated this will be accomplished with either cam in cam technology or running 2 cams but keeping them in the block.

Didn't nineball run a 13.1 his first time out with his LS3 2010? They are very close cars for sure. On paper the 5.0 should be faster though, that seems to be the reason mustang people are upset. GM has a lot of wiggle room for future improvements to really make the SS shine.

Its transmission gearing is going to make it QUICKER for sure in the quarter though, especially with proper race tires but still doable with street tires. it still needs steeper gears than 3.73's though, something like 4.30's+ to compliment that 7000+rpm shift point. |
