no articles testing the shift time with a vbox?
the amount of time the car isnt accelerating... wonder with a tune how fast they are.. stock the dont shifts bad with tap shifters.. its no SMG but its pretty good..

Every since I modified my exauhst I drive in manual mode most of the time; with the exception of my wife being in the car, and even then I have convinced her it's better on the brakes on twisty routes; love that sound when you downshift and it tachs up then winds down with a roar.

I concur. Works on mine too. Press and HOLD the + (upshift) button for a couple seconds (3-5 I think) and it will switch back to S mode. One thing to keep in mind is that it will do a shift as well (if not in 6th or denied).

Not as of yet. But, people are misunderstanding something. The lag of clicking and the actual shift doesn't mean the car isn't accelerating. The lag is just the delay to the computer/tranny. When it shifts, it shifts quick. Stock: Just try upshifting ~400 rpm early and everything will be fine.

I did it at a stop in 1st. Held it for 10 sec. each time and nothing happened? Maybe it's VIN related? I'm #12768 here. You?

I agree. why I added time car isnt accelerating.. they use that to measure shift times of autos.. VBOX monitors acceleration Gs and u count the time from when it goes down to back up.. SMGs get .2 which is incredibly fast. Friends M5 chirps 3rd
I chirp third in my manual any stock auto's chirp 3rd?
I need to have my dad floor his and shift with tap shifter. Ive only done 1st and 2nd in his car.

I've chirped 2nd stock. I also chirpped third with the tune (it gets buttery sometimes - depending on the temp.)

I tried it a ton of different ways this morning. Shift to S while stopped, touch the down paddle to put it to M1, then hold the up and it went back to S. Off the line, all the way to 6th, hold down and went back to S. I don't get why it's not working for some! Weird!

Someone talked about AFM in M and S mode... I got a re-flash with the new A/C update resently. Since then, when I'm in manual mode I don't think it comes on now....or at least it's not nearly as aggressive as it was. AFM drives me nuts and I usually drive in "M" to reduce it. I don't know if I'm going crazy or getting use to it. But it's still very noticable in all other modes, "D" or "S". My vin is around 25000, July 09.
