The good news is that it's airing on National Geographic, so it should have around 10-12 viewers.

Nice. It always amazes me how light mine is...even with 20 rounds in it.
No kidding, I have a .357 Desert Eagle that I sometimes open carry. The FiveseveN is a featherweight compared to lugging 4.6 lbs on my hip.

I read that whole article. Laughable journalism.

I sincerely hope they show how much that 50 cal rifle cost their producers.

I also sincerely hope they show how non-threatening this Mariana van Zeller person looks.

I just watched the video where the guy holds up a .50 cartridge and claims it's $11 a round!

Oh my, at that price I'm sitting on about $22,000 in ammo just for the Barrett I'm still waiting to be delivered any day now.

Most I've seen is 5 bucks, and nobody bought it. Some folks laughed though.

I actually picked up Lake City 2012 production M33 ball for $2.99 a round and M8 API rounds for $2.79 a round.

I wish I could find some MK211 mod 0 rounds for S&Gs!

Foundbthis a couple of weeks ago. Been looking for this gun in particular for quiet a while now as it has been discontinued. Thought I was going to have to find it used somewhere, but somehowbi manages to find a display model. Not sure where they had this hidden since I foundbitbat the gun store I always go to, welk their online store anyway. Ruger still make a "tactical" mini 14, butbit doest have the ati colaspable stock nor the tactical attachments. Its just polymer. Both of the missing feature are what set this gun off visually imo so ive been holding out, and finally. Its at the store, so once I get back from new mexico, ima go have some fun. Only down fall is sincw it was a diaplay model they lost the box. Free 20 round mag to replace it though. Even though they arent the ruger ones, they will be replacing the scope rings, and the lock was cheesey anyway.

Also, had to get a neq cleaning kit and carrying case since this is my first rifle. While I was at it (amazon) I picked up a front grip with a spring loaded bipod, red dot with multiple reticle choices (got ir foe tjw smiley face), and a laser.. predator style. I know im a nerd. But if I want some semi long distance shooting I plan on getting a scope for my tuarus raging judge magnum. My dad had a good laugh at that. Put the scope on the revolver, andbthe red dot on the rifle.

I purchase mine and pay $6.70 a round. Minimum purchase is box of 50 rounds. They are match grade for consistency. If they are not match grade then you are going to be too inconsistent - meaning you may be aiming and calling windage correctly but the bullet is different each time with not the same exact grain, etc. I am shooting on average out to one mile. Otherwise I just do not break out my 50 and use a 300 win mag. My next purchase is a 6.5 because of it distance/accuracy.

If you are not worried about consistency/accuracy then buy belt fed or delinked 50 for cheap - maybe $2-4 a round but realize the grain is intentionally not the same in each round thus your grouping is not going to be good - not because of the shooter but the bullets are intentionally made to NOT him the target in the same place.

Also not with a Barrett 50 - at only 1,300 yards last weekend I could only get a 24 inch grouping because the Barrett is not extremely accurate. BUT with a McMillan Tac 50 within minutes of shooting the Barrett prone I shot my McMillan prone and same windage calls and had only a 16 inch grouping - huge difference from hitting and missing your target (this is with dealing with some consistent wind).
