Girl problems.. need some help...

I know this is probably the worst and most random place to ask this question, but some of you guys are like family, and this website has really become like a second home to me lol. and this is not something me and my father talk about, so I would love the input of other c5ers.

I am on a swimming team in High School.

Theres this girl on the team who's extremely cute in my opinion, and everytime I happen to stare at her, she stares back. Sometimes, we'll end up staring at each other for seconds at a time, and we both let off a light smile. This has never happened to me before. I never believed in the old cliche "staring at each other" thing till now, hence why I need the help. Now on to the questions:

1. Is this whole staring thing a good sign? is she interested? or does she stare back because she thinks Im a complete weirdo?

2. She also has a brother on the team, whom I am very cool with. Should I approach him about this? like should i ask him for her number, or for his help? or should I just approach her directly?

3. When I approach her, how do I go about doing it? my goal would be to get her number, and start texting her. How should I go about doing this?

The easiest thing is to walk up to the her and talk. Staring will only get you so far. The worst thing that can happen is she'll say get lost. You don't know until you try.

I've never been in a situation like this, which is why I need the help. Usually I would just ask for a girls number over facebook, or get it from a friend.

Have you even talked to her? I mean, if all you've done is stare at her, she may turn out to be completely insane but you'd never know.

Just go up to her and ask how she's doing and go from there.

Any school events you could hang out with her at? Bus rides to swim meets you could sit next to her and talk?

any Christmas parties coming up?

ask her if she's going... if she's not say "alright well hey, we should go out sometime." Go from there. You can always give her your number too... say "hey, here's my number if you want to come to this party on so and so date... you should come"

if it were me, i'd work the swim meet angle, plenty of opportunities to sit and talk

Girls only care about confidence for a while, why dicks get all the girls.
They don’t care what they think, and feel superior, so they will walk up and ask anyone, anywhere any time. Though that only gets ya in the door, you gotta close the deal too.

Also why they seem to have more girls, as it only gets them so far.
They gotta keep quote up to get anywhere.
