Unlocked Door Anti Lock out. ( I locked myself out of the Camaro)

Ok, so I just played with my radio and hit config.
Turned the knob to Power Door Locks and selected the on position.
Now it is impossible to lock yourself out of your car no matter how hard you try!!
There also is a bunch of other goodies at the config program.
Hope this helps.

not true..

leave keys on seat, press door lock button, close door.. keys now locked in vehicle.

I have a habit, I pull my keys out of the ignition and they immediately go into my pocket, I use the delayed lock feature to lock the vehicle and set the alarm, I always put my keys in my pocket immediately after taking from the ignition.

15 cars and 28 years of driving and have never once locked the keys in the car..

Why bother using the button to lock it anyways? I've never locked my car with anything other than the keyless remote. If you always lock it with your remote you can't lock them in the car. Unless you close them in the trunk.

Neither have I, however I just tried it, I guess you need to have the door open for it!
Still I am sure it will help a few people.
I do the same thing as you

Easier than you think..

Was washing my car, and just have a habit of locking it while I go get quarters.. After washing the car I use the key to open the trunk and put wet towels in there. I set the key in trunk while putting wet towel away and slam trunk shut..

whoops:(

Yeah the trunk I totally understand. I've done it before but my car was unlocked so I was able to press the button inside.

for me typically I have my hands full coffee, breakfast (bagel and yogurt usually), laptop briefcase, sport or suit coat, etc, using the delay lock is easier than fumbling around for a freaking key fob when my hands are full. Several years ago I found it was a big help when dealing with an infant/toddler and a car seat.

turn off car, put key in pocket, open drivers door, hit the delayed lock, exit, grab my crap, close door, walk away. Car locks and arms 5 seconds later and toots the horn so I know.

I do the same, don't understand locking it any other way....

Also, my wife has the 2nd set of keys, so my 2nd set is never more than 10 miles away.

It has been reported here before that it does require an active Onstar account.

I think that it would be nice if GM put a keypad on the door, like other manufacturers, that way we wouldn't have to worry about being locked out at all. I always use the remote and then put it in my pocket, but my nissan has the keypad, I must say I like it, opens the trunk, windows, and unlocks the car.
