Front bumper part/why is it there?

Does anyone know the purpose of the middle honeycomb piece in the middle of this picture? Other than holding wires! Thinking about removing it if nothing more for weight reduction.

it also helps the bumper retain its shape even in the heat of the day

My best advice would be to leave it on.

LOL. It does provide some support but I'm going to test not having it and see if it negatively affects anything. I'd say about 3-5 lbs more than likely.

Directs air/force for crash so the car knows which air bag to open in order to best protect based on how your hit. Not worth 200 lbs in my opinion. Also when ur ass gets thrown out of the car it will weigh 200lbs less then

It's part of the low speed crash absorbance stucture of the car. I'd say to leave it.

Might be best to leave it on as it doesnt weigh much and I could see insurance giving you a problem if you were in an accident and they found out you took it off.
