WILL REMOVING CATS INCREASE HP & TQ ?

Hey guys ,

I know if you remove the cats it will increase flow but does that mean your making more hp and tq ?

And if it does how much , more than solo hf cats ?

Thanks

The high flow cats that are now available flow almost as well as straight pipe with practically zero advantage to going without them. You might see a gain of 1-2 mid range horsepower between high flows and straight pipe.

So then why should you even consider spending 500 bucks or so on hf cats when you can just remove them.

This might be a dumb question but I got to ask.

Running no cats will release unspent fuel into the atmosphere which is bad for the environment and will generally stink. Also, if you're ever sniffer tested, it should pass inspection. Whether you care about any of the above is purely your choice.

Its usually about $200-300 difference and is not as easy as just eliminating them. There are sensors involved, state emissions testing, maintaining street legality, federal law and a whole bunch of other issues to consider. Plenty of people do it but there is a lot to consider.

Ok so spend the 200 and deal with the law issues and deal with the smell

Or spen five hundred and no smell and no legal issues got it.

What are the issues with the sensors in both cases hf cats or no cats.

Thanks again guys for the help

What I was saying is the high flow cats will only add $200-300 (maybe $500 for some over priced stuff) to the price and you won't have to deal with any of those issues. Save the money and you have to deal with all of them and gain no additional performance.

When you pulled the cats did you have to pull the code to prevent your check engine light from coming on?
