Remanufactured wheels from Transwheel?
Anyone know anything about them? Insurance wants to give me a reman wheel made by transwheel. Is it going to be OEM equivalent/have the same life as an OEM wheel?
I dont know how you reman a wheel except to sand down a damaged wheel below the damage and refinish it? Just thought I'd ask.

I also swapped the body for a C2 Z28. (In short I traded it for three cars, a Corvette Z06r, a C2 Camaro Z28, and a Cadillac CTS Summer Performance package 3.6L DI with Aisin 6spd.)

i dont know anything about them... but if your insurance wants you to do this then you have put in a claim... i would accept a substitute for oem... why take the chance...
if it one of these remanufactured wheels or nothing i would look at the for sale section on this site... there are always sets of stock oem wheel there.. good luck

Is there a cash alternative? You can pick up used RS wheels for $800-$1000.

Cash they want to give me $300 - the price of the reman wheel. Can I demand a OEM wheel?
I was not at fault... I wasn't even in the car.

If it's an oem wheel with no issues there really isn't a problem. Just make sure it's correct, and in as good of shape or better than the other 3 on your car. On another note...
Depending on Ohio law, mention diminished value, your car now has a carfax history and you'll take a hit on it when you sell. Insurance may owe you the difference.

No way I would except a refurb wheel. That's ridiculous.
