Stripes or No Stripes ... Need your input.
I've been looking through allot of the threads here on camaro5 and was looking for some help. I recently placed my order for a 2SS/RS Black on Black Camaro. I ordered it with Inferno Orange Metallic stripes and was wondering whether I should keep them or have them removed from my order? I've looked through allot of the photos on here and no one seems to have ordered the same package. I like the black as it gives it that edge, but thought stripes would add to the look.

I like stripes, but not the ones GM offers. They are too wide and too close together on the hood. They are also too short. The rear stripes need to wrap around the spoiler. I say wait, and see what kind of aftermarket stripes or paint jobs you can get.

I ordered the rally's but then removed it because I found a guy who paints show car quality stripes and I'm having it done bumble bee style. Over the spoiler and past the hood to the front of the car. About 1K. Now if I can just get the car!!!! 1100 since Jan.

It would look classy with none. Or go a year with none and then add. Don't blow yer load all at once. I agree with gm-rex - and I think the stripes are a little too "FIREHAWK" on the front. That said, if you can't find the same package that's good - keeps you unique - like everyone else...

This has got to be your personal preference!
Orange on Black just doesn't do it for me. I find it a bit Holloweenish lol! Of course nothing on Black does it for me! I even had the decals removed from my Black Dakota! To me, Black just should not be messed with!! LabRat (and yes, to cut a hole in the roof on a Camaro is nothing short of sacrilege!! So There!) |

How about a nice Scottish tartan?
For those who have never seen tartan, here's a link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tartan This would be striking on the Camaro! |

I ordered without. I'm paranoid they'll start to loosen up after a while. I do plan on having them painted on later.

Thanks for your input guys ... At first, I thought the orange stood out well. I think it would look good, but a year or even a few months down the road, I'm not quite sure I would like it nearly as much. I think for now I will get the stripes removed and see how it looks without them. Down the road, I will try and find a good detailer who could put them on if I still feel the same way around them. The "firehawk" point of view is a good way to look at it ...
There are definately some nice cars on here with the stripes though. |

I took a look at the Scottish Tartan ... definately would be unique, but not for me, haha.

stripes fits this car very well. Although orange on black I think clashes to much and might get old. I think some colors like the orange need a black or grey stripe same with the light blue. to get them now for 400 bucks is probably the best time to do it. And since its a factory/dealer option it should be covered for 3 years/36000 miles. Plus if its messed up they have to fix it. I ordered a black SS with cyber gray. But on black i think grey or white is the only way to go. pic of grey on black below.

Certain colors just scream for stripes... IMO black isn't one of them.
