Most whites are not white. You would not believe what goes into some whites unless you saw it getting mixed at the paint store.

Since the big bang, I would think. But the universe was dense and opaque for several millennia after that so there was no way to tell.

Here's a page from the 2008 GM Paint Color Index on a paint website. Notice that this page alone has THREE DIFFERENT "whites". If you have a car painted one white and buy a different one and spray some on your car you will see they do not match. There are infinite variations of every color. Not all whites are white, not all blacks are black.

There's several more 2008 pages with yet even MORE whites than those listed here. This is just one page!

AMEN. If people only knew how many different tints go into a paint formula....hell, some "blacks" now have yellow, or blue or green tints in the formula. Put one of these goofy "off-black" paint chips next to good old fashioned black in sunlight, and WHOA....what a difference. It's stupid, as an automotive painter I hate it, but blame the fluffballs in the art and color departments of the automotive design groups. (When was white not white....HA!!! that's a freakin' good one!)

I was dead set on black at first but the metalic colors are starting to catch my eye. I'm terrified that a non metallic black is going to show ever scratch and swirl like crazy. CGM may be a good alternative.

Sadly, those Computer Generated Photos look about 30% like the real colors. We know those images SUCK!

Exactly! If anybody actually cared over there, those pictures have been available on chevy.com for months! The only thing new is the brochure.
