Ahhh don't say i didn't warn you guys about this. Mustang has Ambient lighting on the doors as well but from what i understand they can change the color. Not a big deal to me, last thing i want is to get distracted from that beautiful light on the dash while my son is riding with me. Not a big deal to me. I'm still getting mine. There's always aftermarket.

cars are like women, some are old, some are new, some get turned on easily some need a lot more help, some you just wanna drive into the river, some you can't wait to get inside of, some are expensive to maintain, some are low maintenance, however if you treat them right, you'll have her for the rest of your life.....

Now, I know I'm gonna rub some of ya'lls rhubarb the wrong way with what I'm about to say, but I personally think the ambient lighting thing is too gimicky to begin with. It might look cool today but 5 years from now people might be making fun of it. Just like the digital graphic vaccum illuminescent electronic speedometers GM made in the late 1980's when they tried to give every car they made the KITT interior treatment.

Ergo, this is one of the reasons I've been set on the SS1 trim level to begin with.

This is exactly why it is either there or it isn't. My OCD would never let me just sit in the car at night (in the day it doesn't matter) and be reminded of why the ambient light does not go all the way around the dash.. 1SS is the way to go with the boston acoustics and thats it..

This is pretty cool..Where is it from?

Uh, I'm thinking nationwide car sales being down over 40% has nothing to do with it? Not trying to be a smart ass but name a car company who isn't "in the situation their in". Not good for any of them.

If I could have gotten leather and Bluetooth with the 1SS it would have been my choice.

Yea, but they're not all as bad off as GM. And GM wouldn't be in this position if their market share hadn't dropped steadily over the last few decades. Of course the massive drop in overall car sales would've had a huge affect on them no matter what but they wouldn't be nearly as vulnerable as they are now if they were selling more cars as compared to their competitors.

Thankfully they're working on changing it and it's things like ABL that help to modernize the image of a car and of a company. Just because some hillbilly is stuck in the past doesn't mean that the rest of us need to be and can't expect GM to lead the industry in design.

They're spreading the wealth around. Same reason they put whisper-quiet exhaust on an LS3, Borla needs the work!

It's from http://www.labestlimo.com, you can rent that LIMO tonight!

And I am thinking 1SS too, with Boston Acoustics option, add 4 pack gauges, and some full-width ABL later.

I have been reading all along on these "ABL"'s and have resisted posting much. Seems some like to just slam others.
BUT HERE GOES:

Yes I ordered the Interior Accent Trim Package (W1H)
(Available on 2LT and 2SS)

These are the Items why i ordered the W1H option.

Black interior with Inferno Orange accents on:
Leather-appointed front seating surfaces
Rear seating surfaces
Steering wheel
Shift knob
Door armrest
Center console
Instrument panel and door trim inserts

Notice that the last item says inserts !!!NOTHING about ambient lighting anywhere.
Am I dissapointed that it will not go across the dash also.
In one way yes it would continue the flow of light all the way around. (even though the above says nothing about it doing that.
On the other hand I would not have been using them during my night driving anyway due to I felt that it would possibly bother my vision out of the windshield.
BUT PLEASE TELL ME that the acrylic color matching pieces across the dash will at least still be there because if it is not the panels in the door only may look out of place (Lighting or not).
If I was planning on spending $500 for all of the above without any text stating anything about lighting I do not see why I would delete it now nor would I think I should get any big dicsount back or off because of a single stripe of light across the dash that I would only have on at a few select times at night.
Just My Opinion and yes I am entitled to have one just like everyone else is. Does not have to be right or wrong in you view. It is my opinion. Yes I have one of those other things just like everyone else also. AN ?????ole

Thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts.

AND THANK YOU SCOTTY!!!!

That's to bad. More reason to wait and see how this car plays out over the next year. Hopefully they will incorporate additional upgrades like the lighting across the dash and HUD and so on. Also over time there will probably be additional options both on the exterior and interior. Then there is still the possibilty of a Z28 if the goverment stays out of the car business

Fair enough. But this car is two steps above some of the competition even without abl. I will say this. They can't afford to drop anything else.

Im sure the orange panels would still run acros the doors and dash, dont worry about that, just worry about getting some type of ABL to work for the dash after.
Whoever said that using the technology from the CTS would be stupid because it would be copying is just completely wrong. The car has an LS3, not its own camaro engine, it has a 3.6 DI v6 that is shared with the CTS, if they tried to use new tech on every car, they wouyld be bankrupt.
Go get a rice burner because the option that Chevy boosted and promised isnt there, and customers are upset, because of that, i should buy a rice burner. These comments just make me laugh, if GM promised you the LS#, then gave you a turbo 4 banger, would you still love your camaro, would you not whine about it? A promised option, is a promised option, dont expect people to not get upset, especially when they have payed for it. I understand that it may not seem like a big deal to many, but to some it is, to each their own. I wish it wouldve been the way they presented it, i still dont think the heat cycle test is valid enough, but atleast they tried. As much as we complain, i doubt that this option will be available the way we want it for production, but i will be pissed if it is for the 2011 model.
I just hope that for some reason, they get it fixed and then add it to the production cars later to connect it with the door panels, is there any way we can voice this to GM?

If it's part of an ABL thread on this website, believe me, we already have...
