Thanks man...definitely made up my mind to go with the black. Now to decide between powder coating the 2014 SS rims or go with the ZL1 knockoffs.

Call me crazy, I guess I'm old school and still like a little touch of the chrome. I think it looks ok with the edge of the bow tie and the SS emblem both having chrome accents.

20x9 front, 20x10 rear. Did that so I could use my stock tires. Will upgrade to larger ones when I have replace them...20x11 will fit. They are made to the same specs as the ZL1 rims.

Mine are powdercoated matte black.
The gloss/matte is a preference thing and really depends on the rest of the car. On dark (black, red, blue, grey) cars, you really need the "pop" with the gloss. However, the "bright" cars (yellow, green, white, red) can get away with matte. Personally, I love how the Matte isn't as dependent on being constantly cleaned to look good. The brake dust from these cars builds up quickly and will turn any wheel dull very quickly (which is helpful if it's a daily driver). Just like a black car, gloss wheels look really nice when clean...

depends on where you are for it to be affordable. Here in CA...no. Powdercoating is 100+ per rim and with that extra 400 I can sell my rims and buy new better ones.

I only paid $125 per tire for gloss and remount and balance. They also painted my center caps and left the bowtie silver. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
