I recetly bought a 1974 camaro that has no badging on it so i was wondering what is the easiest way to tell if it is a SS or z28?

Well easy, there is no SS for 74. So if it is one of those 2 has to be a Z.

All the v8's were 350's
The 74 Z28 had special stripes.
If it has no stripes and no other badging, and it's not a 6. Then it's a base V8. Maybe an LT.
I wouldn't be able to tell you much else without pictures.
I sold my 74 to get my '10 SS.

A Z28 will have a T in the VIN indicating the package.

I have a '74 right now, you have to check the VIN. Signs to look for would be- rear spoiler, z28 grey 5 spoke wheels, interior should have z28 on steering wheel, or possibly stripes that have z28 fading down. Also it would come with a 350, that's the biggest engine you could get stock from the factory in '74. Hope that helps!! Also post up some pics!!!

It looks like it has a 1975 and up rear window. Are you sure it's a 1974?
