2013 Camaro SS m6 w/ bolt ons vs 2017 civic type R
I've got a buddy that thinks his type R can take my Camaro. His is stock and mine has headers, intake and a tune on MPSS tires.
He says he ran down a Camaro SS on some back roads the other week. I'm pretty sure I can take him but I wanted to check with you guys first Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk |

You should easily beat him on the 1/4 and on most racetracks. His advantage would be a super tight auto-x course.

Nope with bolt ons, you should be able to take him easy. Civic Type R 0 to 60 4.9 seconds, 2013 Camaro SS 0 to 60 4.3 to 4.9 stock to stock

That's what I thought. I forgot to add my car is a convertible which adds a bit of weight but I still think I should have it. He wants to race from a roll too

The type R is an interesting car but like others have stated is really meant for tight autocross and roadcourses. Even a stock SS should have no trouble is a 1/4 mile. He may get a quicker launch but you will reel him in at higher speeds

Also ... if you do race him, take it to the track.

And as was said, it's not a race unless they were racing. Hey now, rice dishes are good. Nice to change it up from meat'n'taters everyday. Camaro is a pretty good platform but it's not world beating by any stretch of the imagination. |
