50th anniversary Camaro?
Is there any word if there is going to be a good reason to put off on buying the camaro until her 50th birthday hits?

So far I've heard nothing yet, but personally I wouldn't really hold out for a 50th anniversary, probably just some extra badging, an extra stripe and something in the interior that has 50 Years written in bold.

I'll be waiting to see. 2017's just around the corner and I like to give a car with such significantly new technology and changes, a year to work the bugs out... and there will be bugs - always are.

I'll be waiting as well. We should have more info on a Z28 or ZL1 by the time the 50th anniversary rolls around

A 50th Anniversary ZL1 in 2017 would be kinda cool!

Was not the Camaro dropped for a few years. So '17 is really not 50 years. 50 yrs since the first one but not 50 yrs of production.

a 50th ZL1 for 2017 would be nice to see but I'll agree that the Anniversary would most likely be another SS with different color trims accents and stickers.

Nobody ever said it was about production. It's simply an anniversary. That's all. If you want to get technical the same can be said about the vette since they skipped a year of production.

If a car is required to still be in production to celebrate its anniversary, then there wouldn't be any anniversary edition Camaros -unless GM decided to do a 1st & 2nd anniversary edition for 1968 & 1969 respectively. The 1st gen ended production in 1969, ever since its been a new car with each successive generation.

They were the work of the General Motors Corporation. An entity that by all documentation ceased to exist in 2009. So, while I have no issue with completely different cars, read generations, being the "same" car. I do somewhat take issue with an entirely different Company building their own product, that just happens to have the same name, and using a now dead company's inception date for that product as a "anniversary" date. Logically the "5th gen" is the General Motors Company's 1st gen of their Camaro product. And the "6th gen" is actually their 2nd gen. They are in fact spiritual successors to General Motors Corporation's 1st-4th gen Camaros. That's of course if your looking at it factually and not sentimentally. So yes, the 50th anniversary of the General Motors Corporation's Camaro is 2017. General Motors Company's Camaro will not see a 50th until 2060.
