...........go back and read the opening post again. If you want to skip the top 90% I understand, but the time is in there, near the bottom. I wasn't looking for a speed record that is for sure.

Thanks for the vids, sounds good. Just not sure how it would with my v1's probably too much even for me.

Your welcome Mike.

It sounds GREAT on the videos, because the video didn't capture the rasp that I had in the 2500 - 3500 rpm. Which is why the Mganaflow is on its way home. Should help tame down the annoying portion that I do not want from my exhaust.

As I mentioned before, I think the magnaflow resonated X will be a great addition. Although it may tone down your sound a bit, I think it will get rid of the rasp and will lower your exhaust note a bit creating a very sweet overall sound.

Looking forward to what you find out!

Thank - you Keith, I am OK with it toning down the sound, as I wasn't going for the loud factor. I just wanted the added HP of the LT's. Your advice on the Magnaflow was certainly helpful in my decision.

NP........it's all good...............The pain is taking out 14 bolts and installing 14 bolts with minimum room. That is where half or more of the time is spent. That is why air tools would help.

yes they would. We thought about removing the alternator but didnt that would have saved some time that was a pain to get to that one bolt

Indeed removing the alternator helped a ton. It was only remove two bolts and loosen the third, The alternator lifts straight up off this bottom bolt. Just slid the alternator forward and let it rest on the cross member. This allowed me to get my arm down thru that opening to access the other bolts easier.

Your Welcome. Thank - you.

First post has been updated with info on using the Magnaflow resonated X pipe. Best thing you can do if you plan to use the OBX headers with MRT axle back. This toned down the horrible sound at 2500 - 3500 rpm range.

Sound is much better, deeper, throaty, A sound I wanted to achieve when adding the headers. Very happy now with the outcome.

Thank - you again to all those who helped answer me questions.

The Resonated X seems to be a necessary evil with the OBX's.
I like the sound better with just the MRT V2's but after the headers it was just too much.

I installed mine in 7 hours by myself (didn't move the alternator or use air tools) but that was movin' as fast as I could 'cause I only had 1 day to get it done.
'Twas a pain but worth the effort.

Congrats on the new pipes. Removing the alternator most definitely helps. It saved us a ton of time. I bet it saved us at least 1 1/2 hrs maybe even 2. 9hrs? Wow you guys really did take your time. That's cool....better to get it correct than break the header install speed record. I wholeheartedly agree with getting new gaskets and bolts from GM. This is great advice for anybody thinking about doing this job And we didn't use a torque wrench either. Ha Ha. No leaks.

Enjoy the rush of exhaust underneath your legs, the power increase and entry into the LT Club.

FTR I didn't think your exhaust was that raspy. Maybe a little but it sounds mean and purposeful. Now my old SOLO's were raspy. My import buddy loved my old SOLO's and doesn't like the new ARK DT-S's as much. He's weird that way. Can't wait to hear some drive by's.
