Had a great time at the fest today. After making five very poor passes on the dragstrip, my wife and I found a great restaurant about 5 miles from the host hotel. It's Dawsons on Main. Steaks and seafood, reasonable priced and fantastic service. You can look out the window of the restaurant and see the grandstands of turn 1 of the Brickyard. You should try it out Saturday night.

Thanks for the suggestion, the family & I have been having a hard time finding something to eat that isn't a fastfood chain, or a greasy spoon

Just a little local info. Dawsons also has a Dawsons 2 in Brownsburg a few miles west of O'Riley. Same owners and great food.

We tried Indy's today. It wasn't bad. But wasn't great either. I had the top sirloin. Asked for it to be cooked medium. It came out a bit pink but I don't think the meats were top quality or anything. Had an ok taste. But a bit dry. Also found it funny that I asked for macaroni and cheese and was served craft Mac and cheese. Lol. That was a bit humorous. I couldn't complain. The food was decent. We received great service tho.

Try Bynum's Steakhouse, not far from the host hotel(~5mi). Pricey, but a lot of food and huge steaks.
