Washing the Car (time lapse)
Alright.......NO LAUGHING NOW! I changed my shirt halfway through the wash because I didn't want everybody checking out my bum.
I actually posted the following on another thread before but I'm updating a few things and giving you a step-by-step of what your watching: 1. I usually wash early mornings most the time because I hate running out of daylight at dusk. 2. Fill bucket#1 w/soap and water. Fill bucket#2 w/water. (grit guards are a must) 3. Cleaning the exhaust tips, rear valance, wheels, wheel wells and tires should all be done prior to washing the car's finish. I spray Adam's APC on wheels, tires and wheel wells.(this stuff rocks!) Clean using various brushes. Rinse well. (do not let cleaner dry on the wheels) 4. Empty both buckets and rinse them well. 5. Fill bucket#1 w/soap and water. Fill bucket#2 w/water. (grit guards are a must) 6. I spray/rinse the car off very well. 7. Foam the car w/my foam gun from Target. It's doesn't foam as much as Adam's or Autogeek's but good enough for $7. 8. Grab my 100% sheep skin wash mitt and double bucket wash the whole top half of the car starting from the top. When done with top half, I grab my chenille wash mitt and complete the bottom half of the car, starting with front(spend a lot of time here with bug guts) & back. End on the back panels behind wheels.(most dirty) You will not see swirls on the bottom half of the car since the panels curve in preventing the light from reflecting up to your eyes, revealing any flaws on the finish including but not limited to swirls. Don't worry if the soap dries on the car.....it's better than straight water drying on the car. 9. I spray/rinse the car off thoroughly. Then remove the sprayer, lower the water pressure and flood/pool the paint with water. It will just bead off most of the water, especially if you have a good coat of wax on the finish. Now you don't have to go through 5 towels to dry the car.(less swirls) 10. Grab the air hose and blow all the seams, door sills and tail lights. I can't stand it when I drive the car 2 hours after washing and get all these hard water spots and streaks all over the finish......urgh! The tail lights on these Camaros are really good at holding water. 11. I use 1 large MF waffle weave towel to dry the whole car. You don't need to rub the car dry with this towel. Just drag the towel across the paint removing the heavy bodies of water. DO NOT APPLY TOO MUCH PRESSURE! 12. Move the car back and forth a couple times to remove water sitting on top of the tire tread. 13. Using my cheap Costo MF towels, I dry the the door jams, inside trunk and engine compartment. 14. Finally I use MF plush blue towel and some Adam's detail spray. Spray and wipe the whole car ending with those beautiful chrome wheels. 15. I grab my DP's tire gel and lightly dress the tires but don't worry too much about the bottom for now. Now don't use too much dressing or the excess will go flying onto the finish when you drive. Now roll the car back a little and dress that part you couldn't get to cuz it was on the bottom. Now you don't have to get dressing all over your driveway. 16. I grab my "Invisible Glass Cleaner" (this is the BEST glass cleaner I have ever used) and wash the windows, tail lights, head lights, fog lights and mirrors. 17. I grab my plush blue MF towel & Adam's detail spray and walk around the car to check anything I may have missed. 18. All done! NOW CLEAN UP YOUR MESS AND GO FOR A RIDE! Great speed you got going there. I love after you start washing and there are suds running down the drivers side in what appears normal time, you are on the passenger side in hypertime.

Awesome, but you really need to get some different shampoo. Looked as if you were just using water the whole time.

I was thinking the same thing when I watched the video too. Actaully there are plenty of suds on the car. For some reason, you can't really see them well on the video.

About 11/2 to 2 hours. I'm not sure. I don't keep track of time when washing the car. It's relaxing and therapeutic to me.:emoticon7:
LOL! You saw that, huh? |

Excellent video and fun to watch! Great job. I always dump the leftover bucket of soap over the car before the final rinse..
