Flowmasters 40 exhaust

My local custom Exhaust shop says he did THREE 2010 V6 exhausts already and that his customers loved it.... but how do I know if he is telling the truth?? anyone here do this already?

He said he would take out the resonators and the mufflers, then add 2 straight pipes to 1 Flowmaster 40 muffler to two exhausts with 2 tips.

What do you guys think??????????

I listened to the V6 mustangs with Flowmasters, and they sound really good...IMO.

Check out that magnaflow thread where they use one muffler. It sounds great.

I had a thread about this, Flowmaster reps even think it doesn't sound all that great on a V6, too bad, that is what I wanted to put on my v6

We just had our first V6 in the shop last week and you're right the stock exhaust does sound terrible. We tried a variety of different mufflers (including the HP-2) but Unfortunately I wasn't pleased with the sound of any of them. The tone wasn't bad but there was a noticeable "rap" under hard acceleration with anything we tried. I think I can address this by applying some other tricks up ahead of the mufflers but I ran out of time. Be cautious before you do anything, as I'd hate to see you spend your money on something you may not be happy with.

Any other recommendations??? The only other exhaust that I like is SCRMING's custom, of cutting off the mufflers, then bending tubing and getting two AERO Turbines put in, but that is VERY loud, and the pricing I got for that is 500 bucks? vs Flowmasters at $650.... but now some people are saying they don't like SCRMING's custom because it is high pitched at higher speeds.... What to do.... What to do....

lol, I'm not Lee. I copied and pasted Lee's quote from another thread.

And the AR25's are around $60 a piece so I don't know who wants to charge you $500. And as far as what other people think about how SCRMN's exhaust sounds...as long as you like it who cares what they think.

There are a couple other homebrew exhaust threads going right now you should check out for some ideas other than flowmaster.

i agree, it only matters on how I feel..... HOWEVER,

I can NOT find anyone to bend the tubing for me, except one place, says they have to buy prebent tubing.... most places don't want to deal with the bending....

and flowmasters sound so good on mustangs.... but why are there NO VIDEO's UP!?!?!?

so you think 1 flowmaster muffler will still sound good?

What? there are exhaust places all over where I live that do stuff like this all day... It should cost around $200 in labor to get a custom install.

basically ALL of the exhaust options are going to get bit high pitched at higher speeds... simply the nature of the V6...

The trick is not to get RASPY... we tried a couple different setups... sounded good at start up and idle but as soon as we got on the throttle they got really raspy....
