Painting Interior trim and door panels..Tips?
I have read some threads on how people have removed the cloth from the panels and painted them to the desired color. My question is, What kind of sanding do you have to do, what kind of paint do you use on something like that, how do apply the paint (brush, airbrush), and what kind of finishing work needs to be done after the paint is applied. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to save a few hundred and also the color I want doesnt come in the kits!

There's not a heck of alot to it.
just sand it smooth to the touch. I typically finish with 1200 grit. lay down some adhesion promotor, or plastic primer. then your color and clear. If you want actual GM colors you can get them made in a spray can. I did my interior trim and got one made up in IOM. Looks great. Even if you want to just use a factory color that the kits come in, you can save couple hundred bucks going this route if your not afraid to spend some time on it.
