front cats question

I have already done a rear cat delete, wanting some more sound.. Anyone have an alternative method, all the shops around here won't do it..

Buy cat delete pipes. They're not that expensive and are a direct swap.

What if I can't get a shop to install them? And I can't seem to find 2.25 Inch cat delete pipes that will fit

You should be able to do them yourself on ramps quite easily. The V6 has way more room under there than the V8 and I did mine in about an hr.

This may sound retarded, but where are the first set of cats? I've always been confused by people saying "two sets" of them. I'm assuming the second set is the pair everyone removes with delete/off road pipes when they install headers or switch to hi flow cats? Sorry for thread jacking for the moment

If your exhaust is stock, slide under the side and you will see two Cats on each side of your exhaust. https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?&id=OIP....9&rs=0&p=0&r=0
If you install performance headers, I suggest getting them with high flow cats. That eliminates the rear cat and greatly improves exhaust flow. There will still be a front and rear oxygen sensor because the diagnostic computer requires it, but a custom tune compensates for it to eliminate CELs notices.

He's supercharged, unless he wants to melt them and clog his exhaust this isn't an option.

I was responding to Gunmetal Speedster's post (#5). He has a 2010 2SS.

Update: I did it, it's fully straight piped now. I have true duals instead of an X or H pipe. Sounds amazing. Should I go to an X pipe?

You have an equal firing engine, no need for a crossover. Only uneven firing cross plane engines benefit from a crossover. V6 fires left right left right etc. V8 (ours) fires left right left right right left right left left right etc. Always has 2 cylinders firing behind each other on either side during the firing sequence. Is what gives it the V8 sound.

The true duals is pretty intense, is X pipe a smart way to go for refinement

Pretty sure a straight piped V6 sounds terrible
