Ah....I dunno, the Charger and Chrysler 300 SRT8 weigh almost the same thing: 4178 lbs. And the Camaro SS weighs 3849,....stock for stock, I'd say drivers race. It all depends on weight vs rear wheel horsepower. An L99 should be putting down 340-350 at the rear wheels given the 15% drivetrain loss, an SRT8 c300, ah, I dunno, I'm guessing 360-370rw. But we must not forget, the L99 is quick off the line,....so hey.

L99. It's real quick off the line, quicker than the M6. The weight is what kills the 300c. I'd give the win to the L99.

I have both the 300 SRT8 and the Camaro SS. Like most people have said it's a drivers race. The 300 is quick off the line and inches ahead of my camaro everytime. However, my Camaro is a Manual so i don't know how well the L99 will do(never driven one).
After first gear though the Camaro pulls all the way and wins by 1-2 car lengths sometimes 3. I used my side view mirrors to guage this so this is not accurate. HA! It's not complete domination but you can definitely feel the SRT8's weight disadvantage. Then again this was done by my nephew and I and we are far from pro's. On a track with pro's driving, the race will definitely be much closer. One thing for sure is that i would Choose the SS over the SRT8 in a drage race any day! Just my .02 |

I'd give a close win to the L99 Camaro SS, but a loss wouldn't be impossible.

I'm guessing the 300C SRT8 would also have a 20% hp loss to the wheels. In that case, the 300C would put down about 340 rwhp. This really is a drivers race with the definite advantage going to the Camaro because the Camaro is lighter, it has only 10 hp less to the wheels, and it has wider tires out back, so probably gets off the line a bit better with an experienced driver. |
