I think it's an excellent trade off for only 2-3 hp. I wouldn't be able to take the smell of cat-less. I had a 94 Firebird that was cat-less, I couldn't stand it. But that's my $0.02. Certainly do more research and make an educated decision.
So if I ordered the option with cats, would those be high flow cats or I would I have to get that seperate?

Kook long tube headers question? Also loudest cat back exhaust?

Kooks Headers with High Flow Cats. you want the cats. here is my set up with Kooks Headers + High Flow Cats and Borla Atak cat-back.

They would be high flows that come with the headers.

I wish I could haha I get my car back tomorrow from the shop. Getting cammed. it will sound completely different! but honestly it sounds so great at WOT. If you do the Kooks/Borla setup you won't regret it.

KOOKS has changed up their part #'s a bit. Now it's less confusing and if you want headers with high flow cats, it's all in one part # (6511-OEMC) If you want catless connection pipes you go with Part # 6511-OEMO. Either setup will hook directly up to your factory or aftermarket exhaust system

I recommend going with cats not only for emissions but the exhaust will be raspy without them.

As for the Exhaust, check out the Stainless work Retro and the Magnaflow Comp series

Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions or for the best price.

Best regards,

Tyler

The Dynomax Bullet 3" dual system is the loudest I've heard that's not raspy...but it's REALLY loud and you'll probably get sick of it...I know I did.

The Kooks system is pricey but it really sounds nice, and it is definitely NOT quiet (mine was quieter for a few days, but it broke in and is pretty loud).

I was wondering the same thing... yet have heard that there is no difference and then i also hear catless is louder. Was wanting to make my camaro louder and was thinking if it made it louder id take the HFCs off. But im pretty sure im not gonna be happy untill i cam it.

catless gives a raspier tone and will smell terrible. you may gain a few horses but they aren't really worth the smell.

The difference in power is minimal; maybe 2-3 HP.. The biggest difference is the sound. Catless tends to be very raspy and does not sound good at all IMO. Then there is the smell, which I could live with but the rasp is the killer for me.

I have Magnaflow 4" bullets and they don't get raspy at all. Now deep enough but definitely not raspy like say Corsa.

I have headers and the Atak, it's raspy, it's loud as all hell, I can't even go through a tunnel and rev anymore without really hurting my ears. But I love it. It gets a lot of attention wherever I go.
