Aren't features like
Bluetooth® wireless technology for select phones.
USB port, auto dimming mirrors, heated drivers side sideview mirror and heated seats also 2SS standard features in addition to those mentioned above?

The 1SS vs. 2SS topic has been discussed alot on this site.
I chose the 1SS simply because I don't care for leather, HUD, lights, audio options, and all the bells/whistles that come with it. The only thing I like is the 4-gauge cluster in the center console but this is a simple plug/play installation if I ever want to do this.

I got the 1ss and have no regrets whatsoever. I bought the 4 pack and installed them myself. Got the interior trim kit for the interior. I had no need for heated seats, heated mirrors or blue tooth. I love the cloth seats. If you need all the whistles and bells then the 2ss is the way to go.

Does the 1SS have these options?
paddle shifters yes, heated seats no due to being cloth

If I get the 1SS:
Base: $32,750 (for my zip code, including freight charge)
RS Package: $1,350
Power Sunroof: $900
Convenience and connectivty package: $125
Total: $35,125

If I get the 2SS:
Base: $36,350 (for my zip code, including freight charge)
RS Package: $1,350
Power Sunroof: $900
Total: $38,600

If I get the 1SS, I miss out on HUD, leather seats, 4-gauge auxillary cluster, Boston acoustics sound system, and rear view camera package (although I can get these last two things as options on the 1SS if desired).

I'm a bit worried I'm going to spend more than I set out to, but don't want to regret not getting certain options down the road (no pun intended ). In your opinion is it worth the extra $3,500 for HUD, leather seats, 4-gauge auxillary cluster, boston acoustics sound system, and rear view package? I'm sure with that, and after taxes, I'll be up to $40k easily, which really makes me cringe.

Thanks all
I have a 1SS and I have exactly the car that I wanted. I have the gauge pack, BA and polished wheels. What I did not want with the 2SS was the leather trimmed plastic interior. GM got me once on my 1998 z-28 but they will not get me ever again. Check out a "leather" Camaro interior and you will see that most of it is vinyl or plastic.

I got the 2SS and love it. I like leathers seats and the HUD is great.

I ordered exactly what I wanted: 2SS without RS and without a sunroof.

I had to have leather seats, gages, and the better sound system.

Get the 2SS.

Don't get me wrong, I love my 1SS. But after a year and seeing an IOM leather interior, I'm kicking myself for not getting it.

The HUD is cool, but I can live without it. The 4 pack is easily added. The BA system I have, and it is very good for stock. If you're used to having a custom audio system though, you will find it lacking. Connectivity package is easily added.

The only really PITA items to change are the Leather and HUD. I'm going to buy a set of IOM covers myself and have them installed professionally. Then I won't be missing the 2SS so much. (figuring about 1500+ for the upgrade though, for another 1500 I would have all the extras of a 2SS and higher resale value, even though I am not ever planning to sell this car. IMHO if you can afford it, then get the 2SS)

*edit* Also, if you haven't driven the LS3 with the Hurst option, you may want to. It's a huge difference.

You can have heated cloth seats.

It is too bad that you can't get a 2SS with cloth. In the southern states (I see you are from Texas), I'm sure leather is pretty unbearable in the summer, and heated seats are not needed in winter, at least more than a few days a year. But why can't you get the 4-pack gauges or HUD without leather?

I'd go for, and did go for, the 2SS. There are so many useful features. I wouldn't even own a Camaro without the rearview camera having owned a 2010 and now have a 2012. But if funds are tight, a 1ss is better than no ss at all.
