Considering that the cylinder walls of the LS7 are too thin for serious boosting, there needs to be a way to figure out a 427 cid engine with a blower. Possible thought would be LS3If this car is going to be the be all/end all, we need for this rig be be flat out brutal in power.
My other choice is the LS9 but 600 hp. For the ZR1, tweak it to produce somewhere north of 750 hp or better. |

The stock 550hp LSA will not get the job done against the rival GT500. The LS7 for sure wont cut it unless they make the car 3300lbs and I dont see that happening. Anything less than LS9 or tweaked LSA just will not do. I dont want GM to build this car, have it be just as expensive as the GT500 and not perform on par with it. For those who dont know, the GT500 now has 550hp and just lost over 100lbs from the nose. A 55x hp Z28 that weighs 4000lbs is not going to be much of a match in any direction to a 550hp 3800lb GT500.

I don't know what track y'all talking about but the only track I go to is a dragstrip, I want the most hp with the lightest weight and an automatic transmission to handle the power and be consistent. That said LS7/ LS9. So what heritage group would I be in?

I was 8 years old when that car came out. OK that said, what kind of track was the Z28 made for some type of road racing course. Then give me the LS7 with a 200 shot wet system

with the LS7 having an end date it's not going to see production in the camaro. and besides the mod potential of the ls7 is limited to the cylinder walls. why limit our selves so quickly? |

Do the (GM engineers or Exec's) view the comments by the people? Can't a custom performance shop's solutions (SS) to more HP and everything else Z28 be purchased/contracted? |

the problem with doing that it still needs to be tested for durability and if it won't survive the testing then it won't happen.

Z28s did pretty good on the strip, too, when prep'd correctly for it

Maybe they should use the LSX block then and it could be up to a 454, which will probably end up in a few Camaros eventually but not from the factory. LOL

Wouldn't the LSX block keep the weight down? Isn't that a factor. Oh well I need to go back to the straight line section of the forum. C Y'all
