Employee pricing question
Has anyone used a employee discount before? My understanding is that you get a certain amount off and the dealership cant argue about it. My question for you is do you still get other discounts ( military, USAA, $1000 private offer, etc) on top of that? Thanks

The employee discount can only be used by employees. The amount varies by vehicle and can be used with other offers.
Having said that, not all offers can be used together. |

To my understanding there are 2 parts to the GM Employee discount, one is the preferred pricing and the second part is the Employee Vehicle Allowance. This program has been expanded so that GM employees can pass on their discount to 6 eligible family members per year through the GM Family First program. The qualifying family members are, spouse, children, grandchildren, parents, stepparents, grandparents (including in-laws and step), siblings (including full, half and step), stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, mother-/father-in-law, sons-/daughters-in-law, and brothers-/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and same sex domestic partners of eligible participants also qualify. (info taken from GM Family First website) Believe me I checked this out pretty thoroughly as my cousin owns a Chevrolet Dealership but alas it is not eligible for cousins.
The EVA (Employee Vehicle Allowance) is combinable with most other offers so you can stack it right on top of any other offers you have in most cases. For the 2013 Camaro the EVA is $1000 which is combinable with the $1000 cash back and $1000 private offer for a total of $3000 on non ZL1 models. If you also happen to have one of the GM rewards credit card you can use the reward cash towards a new car purchase as well. The GM Family rewards card has no redemption limits and can be combined with the EVA, but the standard GM card has a limit of what you can redeem depending on the model of car, I believe the Camaro is $1500 and is not combinable with the EVA discount. Hope this information helps! |
