I'm much more interested in what GM's working on:





Its uses the entire windshield as a display for the HUD, and instead of drawing your attention away from things associated driving, it actually directs your attention to things such as signage. And identifying the edge of the road could be extremely helpful in poor weather and/or at night.

hmm... see, that actually looks useful. the Mercades thing just looks like a Class A mishap waiting to happen

very bad very very bad idea. I can see a future accident convo happening well i was looking at my hud checking facebook and reading texts when i all of sudden drove into the lake.

Notice the man never touched the steering wheel, that is the only way the system would be practical. MB is already touting that it is the car line for people who shouldn't be driving....notifys when sleepy, brakes automatically when traffic ahead of you stops, watches your blind spots and tells you, boots you out when your bank account slips below setpoint........
