mine broke off too(the screws happened to unscrew) and i don't know about Oregon but in California you can still get a Fix-It Ticket for it being in the front window and not on the bumper because if you get in an accident where do think it's gonna go? so i just leave it at home

We do not put the license plate bracket on at the factory --- we ship them in the trunk of the car :
>1. in states that require a front license plate or >2. when the dealer orders RPO VK3...... In BOTH cases, the bracket is in the trunk. The Camaro will NOT have holes in the front fascia for the bracket -- There are those that don't like the bracket.... Neither do we. ............think about it -- does anyone REALLY believe that Tom Peters and SangYup Lee -- (designers) WANT something like that bracket on a beautiful car? We cannot force states to drop their front license requirement. (may I suggest that if you are in a state that DOES require it -- that you start a grass-roots effort to have the law repealed???) The bottom line is that we MUST, by law, provide for a robust system to affix a front license plate onto a vehicle by select states. Sorry -- that's the way it is. Once again -- we hate the brackets, too! |

And, as you can tell by Scotts answer above....you don't NEED to go anywhere else to order it just because of a license plate braket. |

I had no idea so many states required front and back plates. I thought it was mainly a handful of the more populous states that had them.

How many license plates am I required to display? State law requires that you display two (2) license plates, one to the front and one to the rear. Placement or mounting of license plates is not defined. Click Here to view state statute ( here is the link) The Statute is part of the transportation code found in 502.404 which in part states: § 502.404. OPERATION OF VEHICLE WITHOUT LICENSE PLATE OR REGISTRATION INSIGNIA. (a) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a public highway during a registration period a passenger car or commercial motor vehicle that does not display two license plates, at the front and rear of the vehicle, that have been: (1) assigned by the department for the period; or (2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the period. (b) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a public highway during a registration period a passenger car or commercial motor vehicle, other than a vehicle assigned license plates for the registration period, that does not properly display the registration insignia issued by the department that establishes that the license plates have been validated for the period. (c) A person commits an offense if the person operates on a public highway during a registration period a road tractor, motorcycle, trailer, or semitrailer that does not display a license plate, attached to the rear of the vehicle, that has been: (1) assigned by the department for the period; or (2) validated by a registration insignia issued by the department that establishes that the vehicle is registered for the period. link for Texas transportation code no where in the statute could I find info that states "furthest mostest farthest point". There is a section that talks about the license plate not being altered or blocked from view. BTW this is only the TEXAS Transportation code |

im just going to have to tell my dealer, and make it VERY clear, that i do not want the bracket mounted to the front of my car. ill just tell them that it will be a show car and not for street use, if they try to give me hell.

This caused the biggest sigh of relief I've had all week. I literally think about this car every single day without fail... no bullsh*t, I'm serious. I've been rendering in my head exactly what I want it to look/sound like and in no case was there ever a front plate or bracket, or accompanying holes in the front fascia in my visions. Thanks for the very rare 'moment of clarity' FBF, I won't have nightmares about front mounted plates tonight! Oh yea Scott, while I'm on the subject of daydreaming... what are the widths of the front and rear tires on the concept? Last edited by blackZbandit; 07-13-2008 at 11:09 AM. Reason: ? for FBF |

Tell them if they drill any holes in the front fascia then the deal is OFF. Make them put it on with zip-ties or stickytape. |
