Drama with a dead battery

So, I have neon streetglow installed under my car. (Pause for all the cynicism and ricer remarks) ok....: ) anyway, I guess I left them on last night and didn't notice they were still on this morning on the way to work. 12 hour shift later, I go out to my car and notice that the front neon bulb is just barely faded on. I had a bad feeling my battery was going to be dead...and sure enough... nothing. So I call my buddy with some jumper cables, no problem right? Just pop the hood and jump it! oh wait! that's right! The battery is in the trunk! ok no problem, just pop the trunk button...oh wait! The battery is dead! ok no problem i'll just open it with my keys, oh wait, now my keys have locked themselves in the ignition. Why? I am wondering why this happened myself. Is this an anti theft feature with a dead battery? Or maybe, this morning when my viper system kept going off the alarm shut my car down when I wasn't able to reset the system with an engine start. I dunno...still trying to figure that one out. So my friend has the great suggestion of just taking me home to get my spare key, no problem! 10 minutes later, back with the spare key, only to find that there is no key hole outside the trunk. AWESOME!!!! Things are going splendidly and exactly how every similar situation in my life goes...when it rains it pours. So no way to get to the trunk it seems. I call road side assistance and the lady has no suggestions as to how to open my trunk. Her only help was to offer a tow truck to deliver my car to a dealership. I'll be damned if anyones towing my car. But I was out of options so I agreed. It is now that my trusty buddies have arrived with the jumper cables and Jake Mone suggests that I might could open the trunk from inside. He says some cars have a latch to open from the inside incase of an emergency. So my other 5ft nothing friend Brooke crawls through the backseat and pulls on that nifty little yellow tab on the roof of my trunk that i've seen so many times and had no idea what it was for. I thought it was just a glow in the dark safety something or other to deflect traffic from hitting you on the side of the road. So Brooke opens the trunk and I'm half expecting a little naked asian guy to come popping out and attacking me with a crow bar. But still it was very exciting to get my trunk open finally. Was able to jump my car no problem.....NO problem. lol
Thanks to Brandon for providing the jump. THanks to Brooke for being so small and agile. And big thanks to Jake Mone! For being a genius!

There are posts in the engine compartment to connect to for a jump start. I don't know why you went through all of that drama when they were right there.

lol. Self created drama. Nice!

I guess you didn't notice the big red plastic piece with the plus sign on it that covers the postive jump terminal.

Yeah I know, he made my morning though. He seems to be cool about it and laughing with us.
