Anyones code jump from one end to the other? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey,

My dealer told me befor any cars were even built to expect the not so usual things when it comes to the event codes. He's said he has seen some special orders (not camaros) jump from accepted to produced in a day. Not that it actually happened that way, but the system never updated everything until that day. Just wondering if anyone has experianced that with their order. Has anyone gone from 3000 to 3800 very quickly. He said sometimes, the code never even updates and one day the car just shows up on the lot.

Any thoughts or experiance with this?

I went from Walkin Pre-Order to 3000 in less than 24 hours after submitting my order.

What's up, Sean? I think many of us were thinking exactly that about our Camaro production codes, but now many of us have been at the same number for so long we're starting to doubt that theory. I don't think any previous GM builds would be relevant since this early order program is a first for GM.

thats happening to every new order as long as your dealer has a allocation you need to find out when that allocation will be placed .and a possible tpw

When I went to my dealership on Tuesday, dealer said the car ahead of me was still at 4B00, bayed. Then when I got home yesterday there was a message that that same car had been delivered. So I would say yes, they SOMETIMES do jump. For what ever reason. I sure hope mine does

Well, to be fair, GM did an early order program for the Solstice when it first came out. But their program was for the first 1000 and they only allowed that number of orders to go through. I'm starting to wish that GM did something similar with the Camaro but for the first 10000.

The difference is that all 1000 of the Solstice orders went through and into the system right away and were all built first and in order. For the Camaro you had to worry about allocations and allotments and "one per dealer" cars.

There is one car at my Dealership that went from 1100 to invoiced and shipped! Go figure. I'm not taking event codes to seriously anymore. Once I was told Mine went to 2500 I just don't bother anymore. It's not worth the stomach ache. The car will get here when it gets here.

talked to my salesman today and he said the guy who ordered two days before me and was sitting at event code 2000, same as me, was getting his car anyday now. the dealer didnt even know until they were notified his car had a vin and was shipped. maybe i will get mine before july after all!! hell, i live in erie where it snows 7 1/2 months out of the year. if mine is not here by july 15th i will cancel and re-order a 2011

As for dealers...sorry but bad move on their part to put walk-ins before preorder from OCT-08....talk about slap in the face

Based on some highly classified govenrment documents I have determined that this is a terrorist plot. They have infuiltrated the GM computer data base and are playing havoc with everything. Order status codes, TPW's, delivery of produced vehicles, etc.

Their goal is to break the minds and spirit of their most feared enemy. The Camaro enthusiast.

Did I happen to mention the terrorists all happened to own Mustangs?
