I did the switch. I got tired of waiting for my order and the price on the Shelby GT500 have come down to where I can afford one. I am much happier with my choice. i could not get past the issues with the Camaro(GM bankruptcy, manual transmission issues, GMs preorder system). The Shelby is just more of a special car.

This pic just remainds me of how plain jane the mustangs look. I mean damn why didn't they alter the shelby's a lot more, they just still look like a GT, a little worst actually to me.

I'll tell you that you will regret and I mean regret buying something else just because you are in the I WANT IT NOW mode. I almost switched to a G35 coupe because I was in that mode and then I slapped myself and said no and came to realize that I knew about this car coming out back in 2005 and knew I would get one so why switch now when its here just because you want it now. It's not worth switching please believe that, I have seen 5 G35 coupes while driving my Maro and each time I say damn I'm glad I stuck it out and waited. YOU WILL LIVE TO REGRET IT, DON'T DO IT keep the faith brother and you will be glad you did.

That's funny. Looks like you drive a GTO. The plainest muscle car out there. To each his own. If they make a z28(they won't), they would change the same things that were changed on the Shelby(hood, front, wheels, and back)The newness will wear off the new Camaro. They have already made more Camaros that the 3 year production run of the Shelby.
I would have had a Camaro if GM did not have a mess up the ordering system. Driving the Shelby everyday puts a smile on my face. I would not trade that for anything.

Glad I waited... Not as long as others waited, But I had to have the IBM 2SS/RS, so I could not order until I knew they released that color for the SS's.
Looking back now, didn't seem so long of a wait...or was it...Hmmm

Naw I don't own that GTO anymore that was just to hold me over until this baby came out. Still I only paid 30 for the GTO not close to 50 like most GT500 that really don't look to much better then the GTO. A 500 hp car should look way more aggresive. I can admit that GM screwed the styling of the GTO up but I bet you aren't willing to say that about your GT500 because then you will feel you spent too much money for a car that is somewhat incomplete.

I couldnt wait for the Vert so I bought a Solstice GXP to hold me over. If you can wait a year till all the bugs are ironed out and the cars are on dealer lots. Youll pay a lot less and be happier in the long run. Name: may 09 010.jpg

Who said I paid $50k for my car and how is it incomplete? I ordered my Camaro before you and I was still at 1100 when I got my Shelby. I still would have to wait longer because of manual transmission problems. Great job GM.

Seriously thought about the 2010 mustang, but that tail end couldn't convince me to pull the trigger..

Got one from out of state instead!.

I'm considering a new 2008 leftover mustang gt, but not because of the wait, purely for financial reasons....I'd be all over a pontiac g8 gt if they weren't gonna die. What a waste of an award winning car.
