Went to the tire shop today looking for rears for my SS. They recommended toyo proxes 4's for 208 a piece. Any idea if this is a good deal or even a good tire for the car?

I can vouch for Toyo tires for off road desert racing purposes, I've seen their tires go over 1,200 miles through the deserts in Baja without ever getting a flat. As far as their street tires, I'm not sure. I'd also like info on these tires the OP is lookin at. Seeing the Toyo Open Country MTs win numerous Baja 1000s and 500s has sold me on the brand. The price seems fair but I do not know about the performance of their street tires.

Tyler , what size tire are you getting? Toyo's are good tires , but i believe the tires are super soft on the Toyo's.

275/40/20. Just need 2 of them. Im just looking for something cheap because im sure they wont last long on the rear of my car. These are the cheapest ive seen.

Ive always found that tirerack has some good pricing.

I have the Toyo Proxes 4 on my Camaro and have had for about 15,000 miles and love them.. They handle alot like the PZero's but for 1/2 the cost. I have driven then in Rain, Snow and Hot Texas heat with no issues.. The have a 300 Tread Wear Rating VS. The PZero's 220.

The Proxes-4 is a good all-around tire. I will buy them again. Better prices found at Treadepot.com......

found them on tread depot for 150 a piece! looks like the way to go. thanks for the help.
