My 2010 2SS/RS A6 built 02/2010 does it bad! I have HPTuners and thinking about turning it off!

I have not noticed any hesitation other than the time it takes to down shift when punching it. Curious to know does it happen when using tap shift or only when computer controlled shifting

the "Service Director" at my dealer suggested that... said it might fix the problem. then i suggested that any software calibration that i had performed by an outside company or by myself MIGHT void some warranties.

yeah i completely understand the downshift time, but that's a different - less annoying issue that i figure there's nothing doable about. but the "hesitation" that i'm describing can be duplicated when i'm using Tap Shift as well. Tap Shift does not turn off AFM; it only allows you to drive at higher speeds in lower gears with higher RPM's - so not only are you not allowing AFM to kick in, but you're killing your MPG for the fact that you're not cruising in a higher gear when you could be. i could drive around town, "red-lining" it in 1st or 2nd gear and not get any "hesitation". i hope this answers your question.

mine was more along the lines of having the engine "hesitate" to move from V4 Mode to V8 Mode. i feel it "flutter" like it is trying to accelerate in V4 Mode instead of V8 Mode like i'm understanding it should.

ditto mine too.!

yes... then after the "flutter" you feel it switch to V8 Mode and you accelerate smoothly. the car "hesitates" to accelerate because it's "hesitating" to shift over to V8 Mode. i was fed a line at the dealer saying that this was just the car trying to get better mileage.

i regularly drive a GMC Sierra with AFM. i can hear the exhaust note change when AFM kicks in - it doesn't bother me and isn't very noticeable. i don't feel any "flutter" or "hesitation" to change from V4 Mode to V8 Mode. that change is instantaneous.

Did not vote because it only occurs here and there. Depends on my driving pattern before cruising speed it seems. ALmost as if the car gets "sleepy" at times if your not driving kinda hard at times. BUT drive that sucker like you stole it and ZOOOOOM!! She never wants to stop!

i dont get any hesitation on mine when i accelerate.. only in sport mode after i step on the gas hard for just a second or 2 and then let up to allow the rpms to drop a little sometimes it doesnt drop down right away it just stays kinda high reving almost as if it is rev matching like when you downshift in manual mode

the votes on the poll are at around 50/50 right now. though i know that there's at least one 2011 SS/Auto owner who voted "no". 2011's are not being considered in this poll.

Real easy, replaced it and the problem went away. The RPMs at any speed would be constantly jumping back and forth about 500 rpm. The dealer replaced the throttle body and the symptoms went away.
After reading the other posts, this probably wasn't exactly like they have but it would make sense if it was the problem because the accelerator pedal and the throttle aren't physically connected.

i have same problem in my l99 , i feel the hesitates in the first monthes but i'm didn't take it in seriously because it was happening to me at low speed and i dedn't changed my exhaust that time , but now i change my exhaust system and usually i drive my car in high way and i'm just feeling the hesitates and with the new exhaust it make high noise during driving and i feel that noise aulso when i puting in cruise control at 140km , i thought this noise comes from the exhaust at the beginning ..

the thing which i'm not know why it's happen , during i'm driving in high speed and the cruise control worked in 140km , i try to change the gear shift to manual and the sound is just desappeared !!

so ,, if any one the same problem happened to him and he fix it ,, tell me what u did ...

My hesitation seems to occur mostly when taking off/accelerating and turning right(odd) at the same time.LOL. Seriously. Moving down the road and accelerating, not so much.
